The South African Weather Service has issued weather updates, informing the public that morning fog will reduce visibility as cloudy weather persists, and rain showers are expected.
SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY (03-4/6/2026)
A. Orange Level 5 Warning: Disruptive rain leading to danger to life, flooding of roads and bridges, danger to life due to fast moving streams and rivers, and causing major roads to be closed over the eastern parts of the Garden Route District of the Western Cape as well as along the coast and adjacent interior between Plettenberg Bay and East London in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday (03 June) and Thursday (04 June).
B. Yellow Level 2 Warning: Disruptive Rain leading to localised flooding of settlements, roads, low lying areas and bridges is expected in places over the eastern parts of the Western Cape as well as the southern parts the Eastern Cape on Wednesday (03 June) and Thursday (04 June).
C. Yellow Level 2 Warning: Damaging wind and waves resulting in localised disruptions of small harbours or ports are possible as well as difficulty in navigation for small vessels and personal watercraft between Cape Point and Plettenberg Bay on Wednesday (03 June) and Thursday (04 June).

03-05/06/2026: Very cold, wet and windy conditions are expected over the central and eastern interior of the Western Cape, the southern parts of the Namakwa District of the Northern Cape, as well as parts of the Eastern Cape from Wednesday to Thursday (03-04/06/2026).

Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, can expect cloudy in the morning with fog patches in the eastern parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm in places in the Lowveld.
Limpopo
In Limpopo, cloudy in the morning with fog patches in places, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, becoming fine in the evening.
North West
North West, known as Bokone Bophirima in Setswana, can expect fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Free State
In the Free State, fine and cool, becoming partly cloudy in the west in the afternoon.
Northern Cape
Cloudy along the coast with morning fog patches, otherwise fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the north-east in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly and south-easterly
Western Cape
Cloudy and cool along the coast and adjacent interior with morning fog patches, otherwise fine and warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly along the south-west coast otherwise light to moderate south-westerly.
The expected UVB sunburn index is Very High
Eastern Cape
The Western half: Fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly, becoming south-westerly in the afternoon from the west.
The Eastern half: Fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the south in the evening.
KwaZulu-Natal
Partly cloudy with morning fog over the interior, otherwise fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-easterly north of Cape St. Lucia ta first, otherwise moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh from the south in the afternoon.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index is Low
