Eskom has officially reached 365 days without load shedding, marking a significant milestone for the country. Various young people said stable electricity has made a noticeable difference in their academic performance and daily lives. Mpumalanga News intern Inam Dyantyi asked the public to share their views.

“Honestly, it has made studying so much easier, because now I don’t have to worry about charging my laptop before load shedding starts.”

“Campus life has improved a lot. Lectures run smoothly, the Wi-Fi works consistently and I can submit my assignments on time.”

“At first I didn’t think we would actually go a full year without load shedding, but it has been a huge relief for us as students living in residences.

“I just hope it continues, because this past year has shown how much better things can be with stable electricity.”

“It has definitely reduced stress. Before, I had to plan my days around power cuts, but now everything feels normal as I don’t do that anymore.”

“For me, it has helped financially because I don’t spend as much money on data as I did when we had loadshedding.”
