Limpopo police have arrested the grandparents of a missing two-year-old, Omphile Sethole, after the little girl disappeared from their home two weeks ago.
Sethole went missing from her home in Ga-Mabuela village in the Mogalakwena Local Municipality during the early hours of 2 May. She has still not been found.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the child’s grandmother discovered she was missing at about 06:00 and noticed that a window in the room had been left open.
“At the time of her disappearance, Omphile was wearing a pink jersey and black tights,” Ledwaba said.
“Police confirm that the child is still missing and investigations aimed at locating her remain ongoing.”

The grandparents, aged 52 and 55, were arrested on child negligence charges by members of the Mokopane Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit on Friday.
They are expected to appear in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the arrests, saying that they would assist them in establishing the circumstances surrounding the little girl’s disappearance.
“We have assembled experienced investigators from the Mokopane FCS Unit who are working around the clock to trace the missing child and establish all circumstances surrounding her disappearance. We remain committed to ensuring that those responsible are brought to book,” Hadebe said.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Omphile is encouraged to contact the Mokopane FCS investigating officer, Warrant Officer Chuene Selolo, on 082 469 2594, Crime Stop on 086 001 0111, the nearest police station, or submit information anonymously through the MySAPS app.
