RESIDENTS of Green Park informal settlement near Mfuleni are living in fear.

This after three men were found murdered in the kasi. The shocking discovery was made on Monday morning, 11 May 2026. Abahlali said they woke up to find the bodies of three men lying near shacks.

No one knows who killed them or what led to the brutal attack. A community leader told Daily Sun residents were left shaken. He said one resident made the grim discovery after strong winds damaged his shack.

“Part of a resident’s shack was blown away by wind, so he woke up and rushed to fetch some of the zinc so he can put it back. To his shock, he stumbled on a body next to his shack. He then called other residents to the scene. We then realised that there are two other dead people scattered in the area,” said the community leader.

Residents said the victims are known in the area and were quickly identified by family members. Some of the bodies had visible injuries. One man had wounds that looked like stab marks on his face.

Another had wounds on his back. The gruesome scene left many people too scared to talk. Some said they heard shouting during the early hours of the morning but thought it was just another fight in the kasi.
