This forecast covers: Wed 29 Apr – Fri 01 May
Snowfall is indicated for Lesotho and on the Drakensberg peaks from late on Wednesday, Thursday and into Friday this week but much less than in the previous forecast.
A cut-off low is expected this week and a significant amount of rain (up to 90mm) can be expected in the central interior later in the week.
Light snowfall is possible in Lesotho and on the South African parts of the Drakensberg, as per the map, except that the purple is no longer valid since no snowfall over 10cm is expected anymore.
At this stage the data indicates that light snow may fall at Afriski Mountain Resort and may be possible at the top of Sani Pass, as well as on the A1 and other roads through the high-elevations of Lesotho.
NO low-level snow is currently indicated for South Africa during this time, but snow is possible on some of the high mountain passes in the Eastern Cape around Tiffindell Ski Resort.

The map indicates where we are seeing the possibility of snow, but it may not fall in all of the areas shown on the map. As with any forecast of any kind (temperature, clouds, rain, wind), what eventually happens may or may not be similar to the forecast. Snow indicated may reduce or vanish completely in some areas, or the dates and times may change.
