Police in Limpopo have intensified the search for a toddler who went missing in the Mopani District eight days ago.
Kahlodi Mokibelo was reported missing on Friday, April 2.
The toddler, who is one year and nine months old, was last seen at approximately 4pm.
The provincial police spokesperson, Sergeant Maphure Manamela, said the child’s mother, who lives in Sedawa Village, was informed by one of her children that they had been playing with the toddler; however, later, they could not account for his whereabouts.
“The mother immediately initiated a search with family members around the village; however, their efforts yielded no success. Community members subsequently joined the search, including combing nearby areas and a river in the vicinity, but the child could still not be located,” Manamela said.
Police activated an immediate search for the child and opened an investigation into his disappearance.
“Following the initial report, police activated a search and investigation. These efforts have since been intensified, with police and other relevant stakeholders continuing with operations to locate the missing child. The search remains ongoing,” Manamela said.
Police appeal to anyone with information that may assist in locating the child to urgently contact the Investigating Officer, Captain Daniel Mukansi, at 082 573 4773, or Crime Stop at 08600 10111, or use the MySAPS App.
All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
