Man missing after Ford Ranger swept off bridge into Komatipoort River | Mpumalanga News

A 59-year-old man travelling in a black Ford Ranger went missing on April 27 after his vehicle was swept away while attempting to cross a bridge over the Komatipoort River.

This is the same bridge where two SANDF soldiers went missing in December last year.

According to Captain Pottie Potgieter of the Ehlanzeni Diving Unit, the vehicle has since been recovered from the river, but there is still no sign of the man. A SANParks helicopter has also been deployed to assist in the search.

“We will resume the search today and use drones to try and find him,” Potgieter said.

The river is infested with crocodiles, making the search more dangerous.
