The Cheetahs have confirmed the signing of Springbok scrum-half Faf de Klerk.
The 34-year-old has committed to a two-year contract that will see him make Bloemfontein his home from June.
His arrival marks one of the Cheetahs’ most significant signings and brings a wealth of international experience and a winning pedigree to the Free State.
Known for his aggressive defensive style, tactical kicking and lightning-fast serving, De Klerk was a key figure in the 2019 and 2023 World Cup-winning campaigns.
He currently plays for the Yokohama Canon Eagles in Japan, which followed a successful spell with the Sale Sharks in England.

“Faf is a player who changes the pace of a match, and we know our supporters would love to see him in the orange jersey.”
