Morning fog can be expected in a few parts of the country on Wednesday.

Heat wave conditions with persistently high temperatures (high 30’s to low 40’s) are expected over the western parts of Namakwa district municipality in the Northern Cape, south-west and northern parts of the Western Cape, as well as Koukamma local municipality in the Eastern Cape until Friday, but persisting until Saturday in the following areas in the Eastern Cape: Sarah Baartman and Amathole district municipalities, King Sabata Dalindyebo local municipality, as well as the Nelson Mandela Bay and Buffalo City Metros in the Eastern Cape.

From Thursday it should be fine and hot to very hot in places in the west, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the north-east.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Nama Khoi local municipality in the Northern Cape, as well as in places over the West Coast and Cape Winelands district municipalities in the Western Cape.

MPUMALANGA
Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the eastern Highveld and escarpment areas, but scattered over the Lowveld.

LIMPOPO
Partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers over the Lowveld, otherwise isolated, except for the extreme south-western parts.

NORTH-WEST
Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy, except in the far east.

THE FREE STATE
Cloudy with fog in the east at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, but fine over the far eastern parts.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Very hot to extremely hot in the west, otherwise fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the east in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly, becoming light to moderate westerly by the afternoon.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Extremely hot in places otherwise fine and hot to very hot but partly cloudy along the south coast in the morning with fog in places. It will become partly cloudy over the western parts from the late afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly, becoming light to moderate westerly along the west coast from the afternoon.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy in the morning with fog in places in the south, otherwise fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy in the morning with fog patches in places south of escarpment, otherwise fine and warm, but cool in places along the coast. The wind along the coast will be strong north-easterly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog, otherwise, partly cloudy and cool to warm. Isolated showers and rain are expected in the north-east but scattered in the extreme north-east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly north of Durban, otherwise easterly to north-easterly.
