Kenton Primary School is celebrating a proud sporting achievement after young athlete Wandile Binda secured first place in the U12 100m race at the Gauteng Championships, held on March 13 and 14.
Wandile’s outstanding performance on the track has earned him provincial recognition and a place among Gauteng’s top young athletes.
His victory not only highlights his talent and dedication but also places him firmly on the path to further success at the national level.
Following his triumph, Wandile was invited to attend the Gauteng Honours Function at Curro Midrand Sagewood, where the official Gauteng team list was announced.
The event celebrated the province’s finest young sports stars, with Wandile proudly included among them.
He will now represent Gauteng at the upcoming South African Championships in Cape Town, taking place from March 19 to 22.
The competition is expected to bring together the country’s best youth athletes, offering Wandile an opportunity to compete on a national stage.
His achievement has sparked immense pride within the Kenton community, with supporters applauding his hard work, discipline and determination.
