In 2024, Khawula made several posts about Matlala, another controversial businessman, Ze Nxumalo, and the African National Congress (ANC)’s secretary general, Fikile Mbalula.
Nxumalo and Mbalula laid criminal charges against Khawula.
WhatsApp texts before the Madlanga Commission show Nxumalo persistently pressured Nkosi to arrest Khawula.
This was despite the fact that Nkosi was not the investigating officer assigned to the case.
When an arrest warrant was out for Khawula, Nkosi forwarded it to Matlala, who had also been complaining about the blogger.
Nkosi was questioned over why he shared a confidential police document with a civilian.
“I sent the warrant to Mr Matlala because whenever he goes to the pubs or places to have fun, he sees or might see Mr Khawula, and then he would effect the arrest or call the cops and show them the warrant so they can arrest Mr Khawula.”
Nkosi continues with his testimony on Tuesday.
