Springbok scrumhalf Faf de Klerk will reportedly join the Cheetahs when his contract with Yokohama Canon Eagles expires in June.
De Klerk, a back-to-back World Cup winner in 2019 and 2023, has spent the last four years in Japan after leaving Sale Sharks.
According to Rugby Pass, De Klerk is about to finalize a two-year contract with the team from Bloemfontein.
Family considerations reportedly played a major role in the decision, with the 34-year-old keen to be closer to his wife Miné’s family in the Northern Cape. The couple has strong ties to Postmasburg and the Free State region.
