Bloemfontein teenager Ayola Blom will represent the Free State at national level at the competition in Johannesburg in September. Since being selected as a finalist, Blom has focused on her preparations.
The experience helped her develop a stronger sense of self. “Through this journey I have grown in confidence and self-confidence; I believe that you can achieve more than you can ever imagine if you stay focused and positive,” said Blom.
The young finalist explained that she enjoys the different aspects of the pageant process, including the fashion elements, the preparation sessions and the opportunity to meet new people. These experiences contribute to her goal of being a caring representative of her province.
Blom noted that representing the Free State means carrying the power of the world and a beautiful spirit.
Balancing between ambition and education
Despite the demands of the competition, the finalist remains committed to her studies, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balance between her pageant goals and her schoolwork.

When she first heard of her selection, she described feeling a mix of pride and motivation, a drive that has fueled her hard work as the national competition approaches.
“Believe in yourself, trust God, work hard and never let fear drive you away from your dreams,” Blom said.
Inspiring the youth
She hopes that her participation in the pageant will serve as an example to other young girls, expressing her desire that her peers see their own goals as valid and achievable. “I am excited to take the stage of world empire South Africa.”

As she prepares for Johannesburg, the Free State representative expressed her gratitude to her family, her mentors and the community members who have supported her. If she is successful at the national level, she will represent the country on the international stage.
