UPDATE: Waterval Boven tunnel open to motorists | Mpumalanga News

Emergency medical personnel worked tirelessly today, February 19.

One person was killed and 15 others sustained moderate to serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash in the Waterval Boven tunnel.

TRAC N4 has confirmed that the road has been cleared and reopened to traffic.

Medics at the scene reported that nine people sustained minor injuries, three were seriously injured, and one was in a critical condition.

Emergency responders assisted with the recovery of the deceased, who was trapped in a minibus.

Police investigations into the crash are ongoing.

Multiple inquiries have been submitted to the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison.
