From Monday it should be partly cloudy and warm to hot but cloudy and cool in the south-east, with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers possible. Otherwise, isolated showers except for the northern and extreme western parts of South Africa.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Sunday:

A. level 5 warning for severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy downpours, damaging winds, hail and excessive lightning, resulting in flooding of susceptible roads, settlements, low-lying areas/ bridges, livelihoods and livestock, damage to infrastructure over the central and eastern parts of the Eastern Cape as well as the western and southern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

B. level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy downpours, damaging winds, excessive lightning and hail resulting in localised flooding and damage to infrastructure and settlements, localised disruptions to power and communication services, livelihoods and livestock over the south-eastern parts of the Northern Cape, southern parts of Free State, Cape Winelands and Central Karoo District Municipalities in the Western Cape, Blue Crane Route, Makana, Ndlambe Local Municipalities as well as Chris Hani and Joe Gqabi District Municipalities in the Eastern Cape and the Midlands and coastal areas of KwaZulu-Natal, south of Richards Bay.

GAUTENG
Hot in the north, otherwise fine and warm becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated thunderstorms in the extreme south.

MPUMALANGA
Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the extreme south. It will be hot in the Lowveld.

LIMPOPO
Partly cloudy and hot.

NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy and hot with isolated afternoon thundershowers, except in the extreme north-east.

THE FREE STATE
Partly cloudy and warm to hot with scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north-east.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Fine along the coast and adjacent interior where it will be cloudy in the morning with fog in places, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the central and eastern parts but scattered in the south-east. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south to south-westerly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and hot in the west, otherwise cloudy and warm with a chance of morning and evening rain and showers along the south coast. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the north-western interior from the afternoon but scattered in the central and eastern interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly, becoming strong in the afternoon.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and warm becoming cloudy with scattered thundershowers, but widespread along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Partly cloudy and cool to warm becoming cloudy with widespread showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in places in the north. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are expected but widespread in the west and south. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northerly to north-easterly north of Durban at first, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly.
