TS Galaxy suffered a defeat on home turf when Sekhukhune United beat them 1-0 during a Betway Premier Soccer League encounter at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, February 1. Bradley Grobler scored the match’s only goal in the 19th minute, but later received a red card.

This is The Rockets’ second successive defeat, following their 3-2 loss against AmaZulu on January 25. The defeat leaves them seventh on the PSL standings. Their next league assignment is against Durban City at Chatsworth Stadium on Friday, February 13.

They are scheduled to face Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash on Sunday, February 8, before the league action resumes.

Sekhukhune’s win puts them within close range of the PSL’s top contenders, placing fifth in the league standings, just three points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. This was Babina Noko’s first win since the PSL resumption after the Afcon break, having lost two of their three matches and drawing one.

They lost to Stellenbosch FC 1-0 on January 20, drew 0-0 against Orlando Pirates on January 24 and lost 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns on January 27.

Their next encounter sees them travelling to the Eastern Cape to face Highbury in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
