Stellenbosch FC midfielder Thato Khiba is said to be close to joining Sekhukhune United. There’s a swap deal reportedly in the works as the Winelands outfit target a key signing from Babina Noko.
Khiba only joined the Cape Winelands side in January 2025 and impressed under former coach Steve Barker, who has since moved to Tanzania to take charge of Simba SC.

With Gavin Hunt now at the helm, Khiba could be on his way out, with sources indicating the 29-year-old could be set to move to Sekhukhune United.
A reliable source close to the player has revealed that the deal is in its final stages, despite the Kaizer Chiefs development product still featuring for the Western Cape outfit.
Should the move go through, it is understood that Sekhukhune striker Wonderboy Makhubu would head in the opposite direction, as Hunt looks to bolster his attacking options.
Makhubu is currently on loan at Magesi FC and has always been loaned out since the 2023/24 campaign after joining Babina Noko from Baroka FC in 2022.
However, he is reportedly not returning to Magesi, with the 29-year-old having already featured 14 times for the club this season, scoring once and providing two assists in all competitions.

Khiba, meanwhile, has played 22 games this season, scoring twice and registering one assist. It remains to be seen whether the proposed swap deal will be completed before the January transfer window closes.
