The accident happened on Saturday morning 5km from Mandela View, injuring 30 bus passengers.
Six people were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, five with moderate injuries and 19 with minor injuries.
Road Traffic Management Corporation spokesman Simon Zwane said the cause of the accident was under investigation.
“The impact led to a full emergency response, with paramedics, fire brigades and law enforcement officers arriving on the scene,” Zwane said.
“Tragically, ten people suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.”
“Crash reconstruction experts have been sent to the scene to determine the exact cause of the collision. Traffic in the area is heavy and motorists are urged to proceed with caution,” he added.
