The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in South Africa (SA) has confirmed 15 new cases of foot and mouth disease in several Free State provinces, including Viljoenskroon, Parys, Deneysville and Sasolburg.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the province to 106.
The ministry says vaccinating infected farms remains the top priority as efforts to curb the spread of the virus intensify.
It has also imposed restrictions on the movement of animals on all farms within a 10 kilometer radius of the affected areas.
