Wildlife Vet and assistant killed in NC chopper crash

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) will conduct a comprehensive investigation to establish the cause of a helicopter crash that resulted in the deaths of three men on Sunday.

A pilot and his two passengers were killed when the Alouette helicopter they were travelling in went down between Danielskuil and Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

According to SACAA, the investigation into the crash is expected to take several weeks, during which authorities will examine all available evidence and flight records.

Police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers confirmed that three inquest dockets were opened for further investigation.

Police have not identified the victims, although tributes started to pour in for the deceased.

According to reports, Dr Alwyn Venter, a wildlife veterinarian, and his assistant Angelo Robbertse were among the deceased.

The victims were aged between 23 and 34.

The pilot was identified as Anlo Ferreira.
