Three cases of malaria confirmed in the free state

Johannesburg – The Free State Health department has confirmed three cases of malaria in the Xhariep district.

All three patients come from the same household on a farm in the Luckhoff area.

Tragically enough, a 53-year-old man died, while a woman and a 23-year-old man stay in a stable state.

They are treated in a private hospital in Bloemfontein.

Civil servants say that none of the patients recently traveled to malaria endemic regions, which increased suspicions of Odyssean-Malaria.

This is probably transported from a mosquito from an infected area.
