Positive cases of foot and claw disease (FMD) were confirmed this week on the Karan -row meat Feedlot in Heidelberg, Gauteng. The company reported these cases and was placed under quarantine, although it was immediately caressed, says Dewald Olivier, CEO of Red Meat Industry Services (Ris). Clinical signs were observed in three animals when cattle were loaded on a truck and these animals then tested positively.
Olivier indicated that positive cases were also confirmed in one Sparta beef Holding station in Viljeetkroon. These cases are being investigated, especially since no cattle have been received whether this wooden station has been abandoned or abandoned in the last five months.
Both companies have plans to manage the situations, says Olivier, and vaccines are already on their way to the feeds.

Possible FMD case that is being investigated at Edenville

The local veterinary services will supervise this process.
