Weather warning | Severe thunderstorms, hail expected to hit KZN

DURBAN – eThekwini Municipality’s Disaster Management is on high alert, following a yellow level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms.

While the widespread showers are expected across KwaZulu-Natal, the metro is predicted to be significantly affected.

The South African Weather Service says storms are forecast to bring heavy downpours, excessive lightning, strong damaging winds and hail.

The public is warned not to attempt crossing at low lying bridges, especially where water levels exceed ankle height.

eThekwini Municipality is urging its residents to be vigilant and to take proactive safety measures.
