Ndlovu said he believes the final will provide a significant boost to the local economy, benefiting businesses such as hotels, guest houses, restaurants and hospitality services.
“We are absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to be chosen as the host province for the MTN8 Soccer Final. This is not just a football match; it is an event that will showcase the scenic beauty and hospitality of Mpumalanga.”
He went on to extend a warm invitation to all football enthusiasts to join us in our beautiful province for this spectacular final.
“Let us come together to support soccer in general and experience the charm of Mpumalanga. We look forward to welcoming everyone and making this a memorable occasion,” he said.
According to Ndlovu, the final comes at a time when Mpumalanga is striving to improve its rankings for both international and domestic visitors, an effort spearheaded by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency. He added that this goal is achievable through collaboration with all stakeholders and by maintaining consistently high standards of service.
“We urge all stakeholders to deliver a world-class service that reflects the warmth and vibrancy of our province from logistical arrangements to food, accommodation, transport and security for our travellers,” he said.
He also encouraged visitors to extend their stay beyond the game and explore the province’s many attractions, from its scenic landscapes to its rich wildlife.
The MEC for culture, sport and recreation, Leah Mabuza, welcomed the Premier Soccer League’s (PSL) decision to bring the final to Mpumalanga.
“I want to thank the PSL for choosing the Mbombela Stadium for the final. This is a sign of confidence in the province’s ability to organise and host major events. I am equally grateful to the premier for the instrumental role he played in making a compelling case for our city’s readiness to host matches of such a high calibre.

“The Wafa Wafa final will not only bring joy to football supporters but will also put our province on the map. It is my wish that fans fill the Mbombela Stadium to capacity, giving the PSL even more reason to bring future cup finals to our province,” said Mabuza.
She urged supporters to buy their tickets early and to arrive at the stadium in good time on match day.
