Exavery goals 95% Matric Pass Rate – Bloemfontein Courant

With the 2025 Matric Preparatory (Prelim) Examen now behind them, the 2025 class has shifted its focus to the last obstacle, the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, which will start on 20 October of four weeks.

In 2024, De Vrije Staat again led the country with the highest provincial fitting percentage of 87.3%. This year, the Provincial Ministry of Education is determined to increase the bar even higher.

Spokesperson Howard Ndaba, educational department, said that preparations are underway to ensure that students act at their peak. “Our target for the Matric Pass percentage of 2025 is 95%, and for Bachelor passes we strive for 65%,” he explained.

NDABA outlined the annual support program of the department, with weekend lessons, winter and holiday lessons, as well as intensive study camps. “We do everything in our power to ensure that the province continues to be among the best performing provinces when the Matric results are released,” he added.

Bloemfontein Courant Visited various local schools to hear directly from students about their readiness and expectations prior to the final exams.
