Free State Police has made a significant breakthrough in the research into several murders that took place in the free state earlier this year in Heideal.
Bloemfontein Courant report According to spokesperson Loraine Earle, spokesperson for the Freedom Police, SAPs performed a successful tracing operation on Thursday, arrested a suspect who was supposed to have been linked to two separate fatal shootings.
“The suspect was arrested after receiving crucial information, which was immediately succeeded by researchers,” says Earle.
The first of the shootings took place in June, when unknown perpetrators focused on a well -known drug hole in Heideal, shooting and killing three people.
A second, related incident took place in July, in which the owner of the same drug operation was deadly shot by an unknown man who fled the scene after the attack.
“After the arrest of the suspect, an identification parade was carried out, in which the 35-year-old man was identified as the person responsible for the murder in July,” says Earle.
The operation was successfully performed as a result of cooperation between the provincial serious and violent crime: murder and theft unit and the tactical response team.
“Their rapid action and professionalism are commendable and show the constant dedication of the SAPs to guarantee justice and maintain public safety,” says Earle.
The suspect would appear in court today.
Further investigations will continue.
