67 boys rescued from illegal initiation schools in North West

JOHANNESBURG – 67 boys have been rescued from illegal initiation schools in the North West.

The Provincial Initiation Coordinating Committee also shut down 14 schools.

The committee says it’s been inundated with calls about missing boys.

It’s believed that principals of bogus schools have abducted them and are demanding ransoms.

Legal action is being taken against those involved.

Inspections are being intensified ahead of the beginning of the season this weekend.
