Rain and thunderstorms in the central part of South Africa on Friday

Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers over the central and south-eastern parts of the country while clearing over the interior on Friday.

From Saturday it should be fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy and cool in the south with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the western parts of North West, the eastern parts of Northern Cape, in places over Free State, the northern and extreme south-western parts of KwaZulu Natal, in places over Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

Fog along the coast at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm over the eastern interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly, becoming south-westerly along the west coast in the afternoon.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy and cool with morning fog and chances of rain in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme west. The wind along the coast will be light and variable, becoming light to moderate south-westerly from late morning.

THE EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Windy in the north, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except in the north-east and along the Wild Coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be light and variable early morning, otherwise moderate north-easterly, becoming south-westerly in the south in the afternoon.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Morning fog patches in places over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly in the south in the morning and evening, otherwise, moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly.
