The bodies of three Zimbabwean men were retrieved by SAPS divers on Friday, after they were reported missing earlier the same day.
According to police, the men had informed people they were staying with that they were going to the unnamed game reserve but never returned.
“When the complainants raised the alarm, police accompanied them to the reserve. Information was received about individuals who often gain entry into the property without authorisation. About a week ago, some people were seen fleeing after spotting the authorities and were not seen again,” said police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli.
Officers later discovered the bodies floating in the Nkomazi River.
No visible injuries were found, and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The identities of the deceased will be released once their families have been notified.
