Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over central parts of the country on Wednesday.

From Thursday it should be partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and rain over the north-western, central and south-eastern parts of South Africa.

Warnings from the SA Weather Service for Wednesday:

A. level 1 warning for severe thunderstorms in parts of the Northern Cape, as per the map above.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the south-eastern parts of Northern Cape, north-western parts of Free State, eastern parts of Eastern Cape and the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

LIMPOPO

NORTH-WEST
Partly cloudy, windy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme west.

THE FREE STATE
Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy.

THE NORTHERN CAPE
Fine in the extreme west with morning fog in places, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers except in the south. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly.

THE WESTERN CAPE
Fine in the extreme west with morning fog over the extreme north-western parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly but light to moderate westerly along the south coast from the afternoon.

THE WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE
Cloudy in places over interior in the morning, otherwise fine and cool, but warm in places in the north. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming light in the evening.

Partly cloudy and warm, but cool in places in the south-east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly.

KWAZULU-NATAL
Partly cloudy and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly becoming moderate south-westerly south of Richards Bay by afternoon.
