In a statement, the department says that the outbreak has been confirmed on a commercial farm in the local municipality of Moqhaka, located in the veterinary area of Kroonstad State.
The affected property was placed under quarantine and immediate control measures were implemented, including surveillance and vaccination.
The Department says that Trace returns activities are underway to determine the source of the infection, while farms in the surrounding 10 km of beam undergone to determine the possible size of the spread.
