Industrie Body Agri SA has welcomed the lifting of movement restrictions on cattle in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo and said that efforts to control and eradicate the foot and claw disease (FMD) have been successful. Since July last year, the Ministry of Agriculture (DOA) had imposed movement restrictions on the two provinces in the two provinces in the Eastern Cape and since September 2022 in Limpopo, due to outbreaks of FMD.
