Johannesburg – Grab your coats because the freezing temperatures sweep over South Africa.
Rare snowfall is expected in Gauteng and other parts of the country.
The South African weather service says that this is the extreme winter weather, due to a powerful cold front, combined with a cut low-pressure system.

Widespread snowfall accompanied by heavy rainfall and deep temperatures are predicted for most provinces with the exception of Limpopo.
The intense weather system is expected to continue until midweek.
Emergency services are now placed on a high alert.
