JOHANNESBURG – It’s a winter wonderland for many, but it can be disruptive for some.
Authorities have warned motorists to avoid areas where snow has fallen, causing road closures.
The N2 around Kokstand and Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal is a no-go area.
KZN officials say damaging winds that are uprooting trees, heavy rains, and swelling waves have added to the dangers.Â
Another road, the R56 at Droewig, is also closed between Kokstad and New Amalfi. That’s on the border between KZN and Eastern Cape.Â
In the Eastern Cape Barkly East is one of the areas most affected by heavy snowfalls. And parts of the Northern Cape and Free State are also covered in snow.
