Baukudi disappeared more than a week ago.
He was reportedly abducted by two men who spend a cup of coffee claims to be police officers.
Until now, a suspect, a police officer, has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
The 42-year-old Sergeant first appeared last Monday for the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court.
A extortion was added against the officer who was initially confronted with one count of abduction.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Police, Kamogelo Mogotsi, says that the suspect will remain in custody and will appear again in court on 24 June.
“After reporting the incident, a multidisciplinary team was established, including detectives, members of crime information and visible police work, a hostage negotiator, with the help of the private security industry,” Mogotsi said.
“The team has followed several leads and spoke with family members and friends and has also been involved in their sources in an attempt to find the missing teenager.”
