Discussion | Eastern Cape floods cause multiple fatalities

GQEBERHA – The deadly weather has killed no less than 49 people in the Eastern Cape.

Many are still missing and rescue workers are searching for bodies.

Six of the dead were pupils using scholar transport to get to school.

The minibus taxi they were driving in was swept away.

58 schools teaching more than 6000 pupils have been affected.

Hundreds of thousands of homes were without power.

The Eastern Cape MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Zolile Williams discussed the situation with eNCA.
