Disaster teams on high alert as cold front looms

JOHANNESBURG – The National Disaster Management Centre is calling on municipalities to ensure drainage systems are clear.

It comes as several provinces brace for severe weather.

Gale-force winds and rough seas are expected in the Eastern Cape as a cold front makes landfall this week.

The province is still reeling from devastating floods earlier this month, which left over 100 people dead.

Severe weather is also expected in parts of the Northern Cape and Western Cape.
