Free State Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae has given the insurance that the government will ensure that the Three police officers whose bodies were picked up from the Hennops River in Centurion get a suitable shipment.

She was present in a mortuary in Bloemfontein on Sunday when the relatives received the bodies from the officers.

The families had previously removed the bodies from the central mortuary of Pretoria and performed traditional rituals at the crash site.

A joint memorial service of the officers will take place on Tuesday in Bobiespark, Bloemfontein.

Letsoha-Mathae says that funeral arrangements are being completed.

She says: “So we really need a thorough planning in terms of, because we have a police bond and scheme internally. We have to sit down with SAPs (South African police service) and plan so that others don’t feel that they don’t get the same support. We just have to try to be consistent in everything we do. I think all those details will make on Tuesday.”
