Following numerous achievements he’s had in the past years, Curro Bankenveld hockey player Prince Moeng is ready to lift the Mpumalanga province flag high after being selected for the Mpumalanga Inter-Provincial Tournament (IPT) Senior Indoor Men’s A Team.
Originating from eMalahleni, Prince is a young and passionate hockey player who has always been dedicated to making a name for himself in the hockey sport.
“My hockey journey began at Witbank Christian Academy when I was just 9 years old,” he explained, adding that the invaluable support he gets from his coaches, Zane Welgemoed and Rene Du Preez, really keeps him going and on his toes.
As per his goal, the rising star who prioritises hard work and dedication has already made a name for himself in the provincial hockey scene and some of his remarkable achievements include a spot in provincial teams, numerous awards obtained over the years, recognition as the player of the tournament, and this year he has been selected for the Mpumalanga (IPT) Senior Indoor Men’s A Team.
However, in all his successes and wins, Prince strongly commends his support system because he believes he is where he is today because of them.
“I’m grateful for the unwavering support of my parents, friends, and coaches. They’ve played a significant role in helping me balance my studies and sports career,” he said.
With great gratitude and pride in the progress he has made so far, the Curro learner is excited to see what the future holds.
He is determined to continue to work tirelessly towards his goals as he prepares for all upcoming games.
Prince said, “The future is uncertain, and the outcome of upcoming games is unknown.”
Adding that he will continue to do his best and continue to grow in the world of Hockey as long as his support system remains in his corner.
