The police in Mpumalanga have launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly killed his elder brother in Magogeni near Malalane on April 1.
According to the provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, the victim was identified by his family as Mphondzo Mkhatshwa (65).
“Police received information about a man who had been stabbed at the Magogeni Mhlaba Royal Kraal. Emergency medical services and the police were summoned to the scene. Upon their arrival, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. The victim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Preliminary investigations revealed that there was an argument between the siblings, and the victim was stabbed and he succumbed to the injuries. The suspect is said to have fled the scene thereafter,” she said.
Ndubane said a case of murder has been opened at Schoemansdal Police Station. Police are currently in search of Elvis Mkhatshwa (44), who can be of great assistance to the investigators. Mkhatshwa is urged to immediately contact the police.
