A police sergeant stationed in the Bohlokong -Detective unit is confronted with a complaint for beating the ends of justice after a search of his house discovered dockets, exhibitions for other things and DNA Buccal Swabs, the Free State Police said.
The arrest on Wednesday in Bethlehem came after a fraud case was reported by a furniture store in March last year, when suspicious account applications with forged documents were discovered.
The fraudulent purchases amounted to more than R124,000, with some stolen items that are reportedly delivered in the home of the sergeant with his state vehicle, said spokesperson Capt Loraine Earle.
“The 42-year-old sergeant could not take into account the property found in his possession. A case of beating the ends of justice was opened and further ties with other things are being investigated,” Earle said.
A 46-year-old woman and the 39-year-old man were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the Fraudkas van de Meubelwinkel.
