Her relationship with the prime minister is good, Sesing said, adding that she did not feel small when she moved to the health department.
“I know that the Prime Minister has good intentions and that she has my best interest. [The move] Was something she spoke to personally. I knew, among other things, the health was one that kept her awake at night, “said Sesing.
‘We must be productive’
She said that people who work in the government often become complacent. “You won’t sit in the private sector for long without performing. So it’s high time we woke up government officials with the reality that we have to be productive,” she said.
Since he recorded the role, Sesing said that she has made unannounced weekend visits to clinics and hospitals. The goal, she said, is to go beyond reports and spreadsheet data to really understand the realities in facilities in the province.
“I am not in a place in the conviction that I work with Crook’s, so we start to understand what is happening – can it be a matter of training or need better tools?”
For Sesing, there is a way in the field to lay a foundation for consequence management. This style of management is needed to change organizational culture and to build efficiency in the department, she said.
“The consequence management is not punished and the employee needs to know what is coming, because they have to understand what is expected of them at every point. And we have to build efficiency, otherwise the money we have in a budget will never be enough,” Sesing said.
Need a better financial discipline
The current budget for the health of freedom of the state is R13.71 billion, an increase of 4.8% compared to the previous year. Sesing emphasized the importance of financial discipline to continue this money.
She outlined a few priority goals in the direction of this objective of improved financial discipline.
“The department must pay the South African entry service and other third parties in the past month of the financial year, but that is not what happened. Everyone, from hospitals, to the different departments and municipalities, must submit their financial resources, but that did not happen,” she said.
