Welcome Clinic ‘Poo Protestor’ convicted of abuse

In July last year he visited the clinic and complained about the slow pace of the service. He then returned the next day with a bucket full of stools and poured it on the employee.

An investigation by the police later revealed that he was conditionally free, and this led to his subsequent arrest for violating conditional conditions.

The man will be convicted later this month.

“We praise her because she firmly determines in the light of adversity and justice strive against her perpetrator,” said Free State Health Mec Monyatso Mahlatsi.

Mahlatsi added that the conviction should serve as a warning for those who commit acts of violence against civil servants.

“We trust that the sentence will send a clear message that violence and abuse are not tolerated in our care institutions,

“We urge all patients to stay patient and follow the right complaints management procedures instead of resorting to violence,” Mahlatsi said.
