RTMC spokesperson Simon Zwane said information indicates that the bus was driving on the N6 from Redersburg in the direction of Smithfield, while the truck with two trailers rode in the opposite direction.
He said the two vehicles collided in a side swipe crash, but the exact cause of the crash is not yet exactly.
“The RTMC sends participation in the affected families and wants a quick recovery of the wounded. With all road users we urge extreme caution while traveling in the early hours. Statistics show that most crashes take place for dawn, “he said.
Spokesperson Sipho Towa of the Free State Medical Services said: “One lane is open for traffic after extraction and cleaning up.”
