SAWS warns of severe thunderstorms in KZN

“The areas that are expected
to be affected would be the Amajuba District Municipality, UThukela, the
northwestern parts of Umzinyathi, that would be Endumeni Local Municipality, as
well as the western parts of uMgungundlovu and Harry Gwala,” said
forecaster Nhlanhla Sithole.

Sithole said areas that will be
affected should expect heavy downpours and excessive lightning.

“It will be just severe storms
and it’s quite difficult to tell what type of severe storm, whether it will be
excessive lightning or damaging winds or heavy downpours.

“At the moment, it does look like
it might be a little bit of heavy downpours and it’s quite difficult to tell if
that might be accompanied by hail and excessive lightning.”
