These teams played at various stadiums in Ehlanzeni. The Mpumalanga School of Excellence FC are leading the log with 19 points. This comes after they had played against Fortune Academy at KaBokweni Stadium, and won 3-2.
Sinani United, who was previously on top of the log, is now in second place with 17 points. TS Matsulu Future Academy are in third place with 16 points. They played against Meela Stars, also at the KaBokweni Stadium and won 2-0.
Mpumalanga School of Excellence top development league log
The league’s co-ordinator, George Kgoale, said the Mpumalanga School of Excellence FC have played eight games, Sinani United seven and TS Matsulu Future Academy eight. He said Sinani can still go back to the top of the log after they have played their eighth game.
He said TS Matsulu Future Academy are a team that are doing their best. “It is clear they are not here to add numbers, but rather to compete. They are just three points behind the team on top of the log.”
He said the league is going well so far and things are flowing.

Despite the other teams moving on the log, Game United FC is at the bottom and have not won a single game since the league started. According to Kgoale, they are still hopeful that things can change. “There is room for improvement for this team and they can still go up on the log.”
The league comprises two streams, namely Mbombela with 13 teams and Nkomazi with eight, which makes 21 teams in total. The Mbombela Stream league commenced in November and includes Sinani United, Fortune Academy, Mpumalanga School of Excellence, Mataffin Hotspurs, Barberton Academy and the TS Matsulu Future Academy. The Nkomazi Stream began on February 15 and includes KaMaqhekeza, 1341 Stars, Harmony, Umkhonto, Tusa, Dludluma, Sibange and Screamer IX.
The U20 league was started to accommodate the players who cannot play in the U17s. He said the players would stop playing, after they were done at U17 level. The Nkomazi teams played at Naas Stadium.
