ANC -Secretary -General Fikile Mbalula

ANC Secretary -General Fikile mbalula says the party will not tolerate it framework That gives priority to political connections over competence.

“Only those who can effectively provide services will be retained or appointed,” said Mbalula.

“A skill audit is being carried out for all senior municipal managers in the free state to ensure that qualified and competent people take key positions in municipalities.”

Mbalula made the comments on Monday while he spoke with journalists in Windmill Casino in Bloemfontein after the national work committee of the party (NWC) Visit branches in all five regions of the province.

Cadre implementation includes the placement of people in authority positions in the state and other areas of influence. The policy was challenged by the Democratic Alliance (DA) in court. Last year da was a knock after the Supreme Court of Pretoria, with costs, the application for the ANC’s Cadre Implementation Policy explained unconstitutional.

During the weekend, the civil servants of the party and the NWC visited the five regions in the province to assess the state of branches.

Mbalula said that the free state had enormous potential for economic growth, but that this was stopped by bad governance, lack of investments and insufficient infrastructure.

In an attempt to stabilize municipalities in the province, Mbalula said that the local Taken team of the ANC would be controlled local government interventions to help struggling municipalities to offer technical support and support where urgent agent action is needed.

It is speculated that the National Working Committee is considering re -configuring or dissolving the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) due to division and fighting among its leaders.

This would not be the first time that the ANC dissolved the province; It did this in 2012 and 2021.

Mbalula said they did not replace the PEC, but do what is expected of them, namely maintaining all party structures on site.

“We have fully faith in our PEC in the free state by Mxolisi Dukwana. There is no house that has no problems. These comrades fought hard in an election that we thought we would certainly lose, “he said.

“Free state was an embodiment of what we call the state; All kinds of corrupt activities came from here. This leadership, it is our duty to remind them that the ANC is voted in the free state to ensure that we cancel all these corrupt activities from the past. ”

On Saturday, ANC chairman Gwede Mantsashe Said they didn’t discuss reconfiguration or dissolution, but they were looking for ways to rebuild the party.

In the national and provincial elections of last year, the ANC ensured a scary majority with 52.88% in the free state.

This meant a decrease in the 62.94% that the party achieved in 2019.

Mantashe warned the PEC against internal departments, adding that the ANC had a lot of work to do when building the branches.

“The free state cannot relax with a 52%victory, which is very fond of the cliff, they have to pick up and improve their performance.”

He said that leadership could continue to distribute itself and undergo the consequences or unites and builds up the party.

On Sunday, while he speaks with the media, ANC spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri Said that the visit of the NWC aims to strengthen party structures instead of resolving them.

“It is part of the renewal of the ANC. It is part of the reconstruction of the ANC, “she said.

Bhengu-Motsiri rejected speculation on leadership changes in the province.

“It is a visit from the organization to view the state of our structures and how we can strengthen the work that is being done.”
