  • The victim, 52, was shot dead near the hospital gate while heading to work.

A man accused of shooting and killing a nurse outside Lebowakgomo Hospital is set to face trial in the Limpopo High Court in Polokwane.

Fannie Malope Seribishane, 57, is charged with murder, domestic violence, and possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

He was arrested on 13 November 2024, a few weeks after the victim, a 52-year-old nurse, was gunned down next to the hospital gate on her way to work.

According to police, the nurse died from gunshot wounds at the scene.

Seribishane was caught with a stolen police firearm and a VW Golf 7, which officers believe was used during the crime.

He was arrested by members of the Provincial Tracking Team along with the Murder and Robbery Unit.

At the time of his arrest, he chose not to apply for bail.

The Limpopo police’s Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit has confirmed that Seribishane will appear in the Polokwane Division of the High Court from 4 to 8 August 2025.

Police say investigations are still ongoing.
