The Performing Arts Center of the Free State (Pacofs) will organize a party on 12 March to celebrate life from a local artist, Pesa Pheko.
“Pacofs is sad to learn from the death of one of the most dedicated executive artists to once adorn the Pacofs stage – Pesa Pheko, lovingly referred to as Mosotho,” according to a statement from the institution.
The celebration is intended to collect artists to share some of their favorite memories, while thinking about experiences and the impactful stories about the artist. According to Pacofs, there are still funeral arrangements going on and the public is welcome to send contributions to the family.
Bloemfontein Courant’s Clement sailor reported earlier on the confirmation of Pheko’s identity made by the research team led by Captain Sekgo.
According to the report, the provincial organized crime unit was warned about the discovery of a burnt body of an unknown man in July 2024 near Dealesville.
“Because of the condition of the remains, DNA was extracted and sent for analysis. On February 19, 2025, the research team, led by Captain Sekgo, received confirmation that the DNA corresponded to a family member of Pesa Pheko, who was missing, ”said the spokesperson for the Free State Police, Mahlomola Kareli.
Kareli further said that the two arrested suspects are being accused of murder. The suspects are expected to appear in March in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court.
Send a WhatsApp message to 083 768 7330 to RSVP for the celebration that takes place on March 12, from 10:00 to 16:00, in the Sand du Plessis Theater. The dressing theme is all white.
