“Over the low-lying areas [there is a] 30 per cent chance, and there will be a 60 per cent chance which is accompanied by a yellow level two warning for thunderstorms,” says SA Weather Service’s Tukello Chilwane.Â
Â
Chilwane says the Level 2 alert for severe thunderstorms could bring heavy downpours, which may lead to localised flooding, particularly in KZN’s low-lying areas.

Â
There is a level 1 alert for damaging winds that could make navigation at sea difficult along the north coast.Â
Â
Then a level 2 warning has been sent out for disruptive rain along the entire KZN coast and adjacent interior.Â
Â
This is an active alert for localised flooding of susceptible formal and informal settlements, roads and bridges and damage to infrastructure.
Â
Conditions are otherwise cloudy, with scattered showers and thundershowers in the province.Â
